During the reservation process, the Passenger may optionally purchase transportation service for a pet via our Reservations Phone: +34 902 22 30 20. For this, an additional fee must be paid, included the container for domestic flight. Payment shall be made when checking-in and it will be charged depending on the type of reservation: If the pet flyes only in a one-way trip, it will only pay the departure price. Otherwise, if it is a round-trip, it will be needed to pay the round-trip price. Likewise, the following conditions must be met:
1. Helitt agrees to carry any kind of pets, such as dogs, cats, birds, fish (only in the aircraft’s cabin), turtles, small amphibians, rabbits, etc. provided that they travel enclosed in a special container for this purpose and carry the corresponding medical and vaccination certificates, the required entry permits and other necessary documentation for the countries of destination and transit. If the Passenger does not present the abovementioned documentation, Helitt will refuse to carry the pet.
2. The Passenger must sign a disclaimer at the time of check-in and pay the corresponding amount for the transportation of the animal.
3. The transportation of rodents or reptiles is not permitted.
4. Only 2 animals will be permitted on board in the cabin (PETC) on a single flight and 2 in the loading area (AVIH) per flight. The computerized reservation system will not allow this service to be purchased by passengers who request it after this maximum has been reached.
5. The animal must be enclosed in a special container for this purpose, with holes for breathing and an impermeable base; homemade boxes are not acceptable. If, based exclusively on the judgement of the ground or cabin personnel, the container is not found to be acceptable or secure, it will be rejected.
6. Maximum measurements of the container are 45 cm in lenght, 35 cm wide and 25 cm tall, as long as the sum of the three dimensions does not exceed 100 cm.
7. Maximum weight of the box (including the animal and its accessories) is 8 kg. This way, the animal can be carried on board in the cabin, next to the Passenger, by paying the amount of 20€ per domestic flight.
8. Any animal, including its carrier, exceeding the weight of 8 kg or the dimensions established for the container, must be carried at the loading area of the aircraft. In this case, an amount of 100€ must be paid for domestic flights.
9. Food and drink containers must be covered, in order to avoid spills.
10. The box must be carried on the floor, either between the passenger’s feet or under his or her seat. Transporting the box in the seat next to the Passenger is prohibited, even if it is unoccupied. Holding the box in one’s lap is also prohibited.
11. Animals will be rejected if their particular characteristics (bad odor, state of health or hygiene, or violent behaviour) may become bothersome to other passengers.
12. In no case the animal will be removed from its container from the time of boarding until deboarding the aircraft.
13. Only one animal may be transported per box, except for birds or other small animals.
14. Due to individual country regulations, Helitt does not permit transportation of such animals on flights to and from the United Kingdom, Ireland and Malta.
15. The Passenger should make sure that the country regulations at his or her destination permit transportation of the animal, that the animal meets proper hygiene standards, and that he or she carries the required documentation for possessing and transporting the animal.
16. The Passenger will be responsible for any damages (such as fines imposed by the country of destination, etc.), which Helitt may incur due to the transportation of animals without proper documentation.
17. The cabin crew reserves the right to change the seat of any Passenger traveling with animals, in order to meet safety regulations.
