At Helitt Airlines we want you to fly with all the baggage you need for your trip. For that, we offer you the option to carry on one piece of hand baggage plus the possibility to check-in one piece of baggage up to 20kg for free. You can also check in a second baggage at an interesting price.
Next you will find useful information about baggage allowances at Helitt Airlines: which baggage is for free, what it is considered hand baggage, what baggage must be checked-in, how much does it cost to carry on additional baggage, how to travel with special baggage and pets as well as the procedures for baggage claims.
Hand Baggage
Each passenger (except infants) is allowed one piece of hand baggage up to the dimensions 22cm x33cm x44cm (8in x 13in x 17in). The maximum weight cannot exceed 6kg (13lbs). Handbags, laptops, briefcases, items from the airport stores, cameras, etc. must be placed inside the hand baggage.
All items considered extra cabin baggage or oversized will be rejected at the boarding gate or taken, whenever possible, to the loading area of the aircraft, with an additional charge of 40€. If you have any doubts about hand baggage ask for help at the bag drop desk before going through security checkpoint.
Hand baggage cannot contain restricted items.
Checked Baggage
Each passenger is allowed to check a maximum of two pieces of baggage (a maximum of 3 pieces for Helitt’s Flex passengers), all of them up to 20kg and only one of them checked for free. It is not permitted to divide or check together the baggage, even if the passengers are traveling together with the same reservation.
Any bags carried exceeding the allowed weight limit will incur an additional charge for excess baggage. This amount will be increased for every kilogram over the maximum allowed.
In those airports with self-service check-in, the passenger shall have paid all fares for checked baggage and/or excess baggage and have placed the checked baggage in a bag drop desk at least 40 minutes prior to scheduled departure.
Infants and Passengers with Reduced Mobility Baggage
Infant’s seat may not be used to carry hand baggage or checked baggage. However, passengers are allowed to carry one fully collapsible pushchair per child at no extra charge. Additional infant equipment, such as approved infant safety seats or booster seats and travel cots, may be carried in addition to your personal checked baggage allowance.
Infant equipment up to a maximum of 20kg booked online is charged at the rate of 10€ per item plus route. However, if the reservation was not booked online, the rate of 20€ per item plus route will apply.
Any infant equipment which weight exceeds 20kg allowance will be charged for the excess at the applicable excess baggage rate per kilo.
Those equipments necessary for passengers with reduced mobility are carried at no extra charge.
Special Baggage
Passengers may carry their own sports equipment (fishing equipment, golf clubs, scooters, fencing equipment, surfboards, skis or snowboards, bicycles*, etc.) as well as oversized musical instruments (harps, double bass, drums, etc.) up to 20kg. For that, an additional charge of 40€ per item plus route shall be paid if you book it online. For any other kind of reservation, the fare will be 50€ per item plus route. Any sporting or musical item which weight exceeds 20kg will be paid as excess baggage.
* Bicycles shall be carried inside a protective box or bag and shall never exceed 30kg per item.
Smaller musical instruments (guitars, violins, violas, etc.) which size exceeds the allowed hand baggage dimensions can be carried on board as long as a seat is reserved for them and the corresponding fare is paid. The extra seat booked does not entitle the passenger to check-in more baggage or to carry on extra hand baggage.
In order to book an additional seat for an item, you must write “ITEM SEAT” as last name and “EXTRA” as passenger’s name. “EXTRA ITEM SEAT” will appear in the reservation and online boarding pass. The companion passenger’s travel documents details must be included during the online check-in process. These details will be printed later in the online boarding pass.
